June Martin MBE

30th April 1926 - 3rd July 2020

This page will be updated with information about funeral and remembrance services.

Donations instead of flowers, please. June would have wanted donations to the Ascot Day Centre; funeral directors Lines Bannister have set up a page which you can use to make Gift Aid donations: click here to donate https://junemartin.muchloved.com

The Daily Telegraph published an obituary on Tuesday 7th July - an extended text version is currently online here.

There will be a private, invitation-only service at Easthampstead Park near Wokingham on 20th July, with numbers limited to 20. Live streaming will be available, as will a recording to watch later (from within 3 days of the funeral to 28 days after the event). If you would like the link and username/password to this, please email vickimartin52@btinternet.com

We hope to hold a remembrance service in months to come, once restrictions are further relaxed, but I do not want to encourage anything which may put what is likely to be a predominantly elderly audience at risk of cross-infection - nor do I want to have to wait until (for example) next year when it may no longer seem relevant.

For any other enquiries please mail me Vicki Martin (daughter) at vickimartin52@btinternet.com

Your text will appear on this web page, and selected contributions may be included at the funeral or remembrance services.

Below:  filmed in December 2019, here is some 'living history' from mum, talking about her memories of the pub 'The Brewers Arms' which her grandfather was landlord of, in Ipswich, as a young girl.

a remarkable lady

“June was a remarkable lady,
as many people will have told you. June did give so much voluntary service to the community helping others over many, many years.”
