dry stream

The dry stream is a transitional area.

It provides important drainage for winter wet and overflow from the new pond (so is not always 'dry').

Planting offers a rest for the eye from adjacent, more detailed areas, and provides seasonal colour interest from massed plantings of blue Pulmonaria 'Benediction' in spring, bearded Iris in early summer, and Hydrangeas in autumn.

Rocks are Cornish granite, from the Lantoom quarry - which coincidentally is very close to the last home of my Cornish ancestors (my father was Cornish).
